Join up is a magical thing. (youtube it)

my mother took this photo, as I was walking around with him. I stop, he stops, if I turn left, he turns left.
You might notice the whip on the floor. He's scared to death of it. But notice after join up has been preformed...he's not even looking, even though it's right by his hooves!

After this I took him in the trailer a few times and there was such a difference! He didn't try and push past me, he didn't rear, didn't kick...nothing.
I could tell he was still a bit scared, but he was fine.

Next step - closing the doors. Going for a drive.

Would you mind terribly if I used this as a referance for a drawing? I will credit you and link back to this image in the description.

That's really great ^^ I've always wanted to try working with natural horsemanship, but I've never really had the opportunity to do it. It is an amazing thing though :)

Wow, you're so lucky to be able to experience a join up. :D And you have such a beautiful horse. :)
Do you know if natural horsemanship is good to do with the horse if it doesn't respect you?
I'd love to do that with my pony, but she's so stubborn, I can't get her to run around. -.- Also, we lack a round paddock, which makes thing alot harder. :/

Thanks!! :D Ned's lovely, but everyone thinks he's ugly because of the lump on his nose (can't really see it here)

To be honest, I don't know that much about it D: Ned was so easy to join up with, I didn't really learn any of the techniques for problem horses.
A round paddock does make stuff easier, but I hear you can do it on a lunge line too ^^

You're welcome. :D Hmm, well it's how the horse behave that counts, I guess. :D As long as they have a good personality, the look doesn't matter. That's what I think. ;)
Yeah, my problem is that Flicka is the leader horse, so I don't think she is the easiest to do a join up with. :/
